When?

Dates for participants are 26th July – 10th August 2019

Who?

This trip is open to ALL Scouts, Explorers, Network and Leaders in Coventry Scout County.

Where?

Scout Camp Ransberg outside Ransäter in Värmland is one of Sweden’s Temperance Guide and Scout Association three campsites. Situated about 60km north of Karlstad it is the ideal location for our adventure. The campsite offers many different activities, some we will recognise and some we won’t.

Check out their Facebook page; www.facebook.com/ScoutCampRansberg

What?

So, you’re interested in joining other Scouters from across Coventry on a trip of a lifetime to Sweden in 2019? That’s great! In the CovQuest Chronicle, you will find lots of handy information to help you decide. At this point, we are still in the early planning stages of the camp and as such, this is all the information that we can say for certain. Over the next 18 months, there will be lots more newsletters released, we want to keep you up to date with our progress. So, have a read, see what you think and if you decide you’d like to join us, then you can use our booking form to be a part of our camp!

How Much?

The cost will be £800

Deposit of £100 to be paid by the 22nd September 2018.

How to Book?

Click the button to the left that says "Book Now" and it will take you to our booking system. Make sure you fill out the form and pay the deposit as soon as possible to secure your place!

Anything Else?

Check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) below for more info. If you have a question that hasn't been answered there, then please get in touch at CovQuest2019@coventryscouts.org.uk

FAQs;

Is there a selection process for this camp like there was with the Jamboree?

No. Places are available on a first come first served basis, so get your deposits in as soon as you can.

My leaders aren’t going but I want to go, can I still go?
Yes! You will be sorted into groups, so you won’t be alone.

Will I have to learn Swedish beforehand?
No, but why not try to? It might come in handy.

Will there be fundraising to help cover the costs?
We are looking to form a fundraising committee that will organise fundraising events, if you’re interested in joining this then please get in contact.

What kit/equipment will I need for the camp?
We will be giving out a full kit list once we have received all bookings. You will definitely need a sleeping bag, boots and a waterproof coat though!

Will we need pocket money and will we look after it ourselves?

There will be opportunities to buy souvenirs and sweets etc. but we can’t say at this time how much we would recommend you bring. We would suggest that you look after your own money but that can be discussed with your leader individually.

I have special dietary requirements, will these be met? Yes. Our catering team will contact you if you declare on your booking form that you have dietary requirements.

Will I need to have insurance?

All participants will be insured under The Scout Association insurance.

What about Brexit? Will we be needing Visas?
We will be keeping an eye on this, as it stands now we believe that the UK will be in the transition period when we go to Sweden and that we shouldn’t need Visas.
